Vector Tells Us Why He Thinks He Is Different From Wizkid, Davido and Olamide

This week should be called celebrity interview week.
Budding rapper Vector, in an exclusive with the Nigerian Tribune, talks about other musicians people call his competition – youngsters Wizkid, Davido and Olamide.
Read excerpts below: -
Don’t you think the likes of Davido, Wizkid, Olamide are stealing the show from you and others?
I have never seen it like that. I will never see it that way.
Why?
These guys are successful and I bless God for their lives. If you care to know, our audiences are different, so they are not stealing the show.
What makes you stand out?
I don’t mean to disrespect anybody, I have high moral; the guy that doesn’t do tattoo or plait his hair. Moreover, I am a guy that believes in education before anything.
Are you saying this because some of these guys have tattoo on their bodies and that a handful of them dropped out of school?
No! I’m saying what makes me stand out is what I have been doing and what makes them stand out is what they have been doing. You see, we are not contemporaries, so no threat. I have my fans around the world and I am comfortable with the love they show me. Nigeria is developing, not because we are comparing it with other developing countries. If we do that, we are not developing

Man Must Chop: Ailing producer OJB tells Juliet Ibrahim why he has to raise $100k not $50k

ojb-sickjuliet-ibrahim
Ghanaian model and actress Juliet Ibrahim went on social network Instagram to tell the world that Kidney surgery won’t require up to $100,000 which OJB and his team were pleading for but just $50,000.
OJB Jezreel has released a statement saying:
“The mistake she’s making is that it depends on the hospital you are going to in India. She says she runs a foundation, they might give her a rebate. The procedure itself is $55, 000. When you take out $55, 000, you are left with $45, 000. What about the running cost of the procedure? You don’t go to India only to come back and start asking for help again. At least, I need some money to maintain myself for the next one year. So when you factor in all these costs, add air tickets and lodging, you will appreciate what we are talking about.

Inside the Henry Cavill-Kaley Cuoco Hookup

Inside the Henry Cavill-Kaley Cuoco Hookup

Kaley Cuoco (Film Magic)Semi-random-but-cute couple alert:

Henry Cavill and Kaley Cuoco are dating.
Sources confirm to omg! that the "Man of Steel" star and "Big Bang Theory" actress are seeing each other, although things are "very new."
"They both tend to keep their relationships very low profile, I'm sure this won't be any different while they get to know each other," one insider tells omg!.
Less than a month ago, it seemed as if the two stars didn't even know each other! Or maybe they are just really good actors.
Backstage at Spike TV's Guy's Choice Awards in L.A. on June 8, both Cavill, 30, and Cuoco, 27, were in the green room, although witnesses say the two didn't interact. Cuoco held court in a corner with a few girlfriends while Cavill was on the opposite end of the room with Joseph Gordon-Levitt and his "Man of Steel" co-star Amy Adams.
Kaley Cuoco tweets this photo after seeing 'Man of Steel' (Twitter)On June 14,

Cuoco tweeted a photo that showed herself gazing up into Cavill's eyes on a "Man of Steel" poster: "Everyone go see 'man of steel'. It's fantastic in every single way."
Perhaps that was a cryptic shout-out to her new beau!
Cavill most dated "Fast & Furious 6" star Gina Carano. The two began seeing each other in fall 2012, although they kept their relationship out of the limelight. While it's being reported the duo called it quits in early May, sources tell omg! the two were off and on in the spring before finally drifting apart for good due to their work schedules.
As for Cuoco, she recently split from musician Bret Bollinger. The actress was briefly engaged to addiction specialist Josh Resnik before they broke up in March 2012. The actress also secretly dated her "Big Bang" co-star Johnny Galecki for two years.

Senate to suspend plenary over Ewherido’s death

Senator Ewherido
President of the Senate, David Mark, has said the Senate will suspend Tuesday’s plenary session as a mark of respect for the late Senator Pius Ewherido, who died on Sunday in Abuja.
Mark gave the hint on Monday when he led the Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, and other senators to the residence of the late Ewherido in Asokoro, Abuja.
While consoling the  deceased’s wife, Doye,  he said, “In line with our tradition and as a mark of respect for our departed colleague, the Senate will suspend plenary tomorrow (today).
“We share in your bereavement, pains and sorrows at this moment of grief.”
Mark also urged members of the Ewherido’s family to continue to have faith in God, noting that death always subject believers’ faith in God to test.
“As Catholics, it is easy to say the Creed that I believe in God, the Maker of Heaven and Earth. But when death comes, we question God. This is the time to increase our faith in God.
“If there was anything we could have done to save the life of our distinguished colleague, we would have done it but the Lord owns his life,” he counselled.
Also extolling the virtues of the late Ewherido, Uduaghan described the late senator as “a strong voice from Delta.”
He said Ewherido was an experienced lawmaker, having been a deputy speaker and later an acting speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly.
“In the last two years, he has brought this experience to bear on the floor of the Senate. We have lost a strong voice in Delta,” he said.
Receiving the delegation, the elder brother of the late senator, Rev. Fr. Anthony Ewherido, expressed the family’s gratitude to the President of the Senate, Uduaghan and senators across party lines for standing by them.
He said, “He was your distinguished colleague. I have always been proud of him but I am more proud of him in death.”
Similarly, the Leader of the Senate, Victor Ndoma-Egba,  said on Monday that  Ewherido’s death was a great pain and shock.
He said, “Senator Ewherido was the quintessential legislator, who was cerebral, insightful, clear in language and thought. He had the courage of his convictions and had an excellent grasp of legislative practice, drawing  from his experience as Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly and natural endowments.”
Also, the member representing Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency, Ndudi Elumelu, described as sad and deeply shocking the sudden death of Ewherido.
Meanwhile, the Action Congress of Nigeria described as a great national loss the death of Ewherido, who passed away at the National Hospital in Abuja on Sunday.
In a statement in Lagos on Monday by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the party commiserated with the family of the senator, his constituency in the Delta Central Senatorial District, as well as the entire Senate over his untimely demise
It said the death of such a man of sterling achievements at a tender age of only 50 was a big blow to all, adding that he would be sorely missed.
Also, the Nigeria Governors’ Forum described Ewherido’s death as painful.
The governors, in a statement by their Chairman, Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State in Abuja on Monday, said it was unfortunate that the senator, who they described as hardworking, could die when his services were more needed in the country.
The statement read, “We hereby condole with the Nigerian Senate, the government and people of Delta State and the entire Ewherido family  over the sudden death of Senator Pius Ewherido, who,  until his death, represented  Delta Central Senatorial District on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party.
“It is unfortunate that the hardworking, independent-minded senator, a political icon, and one of the most accomplished politicians in our country passed on at a time our country needed his invaluable service most. His loss is no doubt a monumental loss to our nation.
“Senator Ewherido’s departure is both painful and shocking. But we take solace in the fact that he lived and died well.”

REVEALED: Real Reasons Why Obasanjo Is Angry With Jonathan

Facts have emerged on why Ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo have assumed an anti-Goodluck Jonathan stance, even as the 2015 intrigues continue to gather steam.
obasanjo-and-jonathan-360x225
A source privy to a recent meeting where Obasanjo openly expressed his displeasure to some close allies on how President Jonathan has been relating with him, said it all started when:
Obasanjo indicated his intention to resign as the chairman of the Board of Trustees of PDP. The situation was allegedly handled poorly by President Jonathan and this angered Obasanjo.
According to the source, the former president had expected the president to engage him in order to seek clarification on why he was leaving the office beyond the excuses he had advanced.
Commenting on the Obasanjo/Jonathan grudge, the source said the former president was shocked when about a week after serving the notice of his intention to resign, he received a letter from Jonathan, accepting his resignation without either an attempt to persuade him against it or give personal attention to the plan.
Obasanjo was said to have described President Jonathan’s action as both insensitive and a display of poor understanding of the nuances of power.
“Baba had expected that given his place in the party and especially the role he played in the emergence of Mr Goodluck Jonathan as President, he would have prevailed on him not to go but stay back and help moderate things at the highest level in the party,” the source said.
Another source told Thisday that Jonathan just “acted naively” without knowing the implications.
The source, who gave a rundown of Jonathan’s alleged many infractions against Obasanjo, confirmed that the former president is not happy with the way the Jonathan groups were going about his re-election bid.
According to him, Obasanjo had put a lot at stake by brokering a one-term deal that is now being vehemently denied, adding that even if there was plan to seek re-election, the brazen approach is certainly counter-productive in the light of the prevailing political developments in the country.
The source recalled that apart from easing out former governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola of Osun State as national secretary, Bode Mustapha, as auditor-general and former Ekiti State governor, Segun Oni, as vice-chairman of the PDP, South-west zone, the PDP in Ogun State had also been taken away from Obasanjo and handed over to someone regarded as “unrepentantly anti-Obasanjo”, Mr. Buruji Kashamu.
Worthy of note, the source mentioned, was that Obasanjo didn’t take kindly, the way Jonathan took his position on the issue of insecurity, especially when the President was reported as saying he would not handle the issue of terrorism the military way, alluding to Obasanjo’s invasion of Odi and Zaki Biam.
Another instance, according to the source, was that Obasanjo sometime ago visited one of his farms in Cross River State and observed that the road to the farm was in deplorable state.
“So, Baba expressed his disappointment to the Cross River State governor on the state of the road but the man replied and said it was the President that had not approved of it being a federal road.
“Right there, Baba called the president and narrated his encounter with the governor and told the president that he had appealed to the governor to go ahead with the road and that he’ll be reimbursed by the president, to which Jonathan was said to have replied in the affirmative.
“But Baba was later shocked to hear that the president had sent for the governor and dressed him down for what he considered ‘reporting him to Baba’. So, these are some of the things that people do not know that are annoying Baba. If not for these infractions, the source said, “Baba was not and never would have been against the president because of the role he played in his emergence. It is depressing for Baba.”

Again, Mimiko Defeats Oke, Akeredolu As Appeal Court Upholds Election

MIMIKO-WINS-ONDO-ELECTIONThe Court of Appeal sitting in Akure, the Ondo State capital yesterday dismissed the appeals filed by the candidates for the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu, SAN, and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olusola Oke, against the re-election of Governor Olusegun Mimiko (Labour Party).
The duo had filed separate appeals before the appellate court against the judgment of the Election Petitions Tribunal which had earlier dismissed their petitions, challenging the declaration of Mimiko as the winner of the October 20, 2012 poll in the state.
The duo had challenged the validity of 2012 voters register used for the conduct of the Election which allegedly had more than 100,000 names injected by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in flagrant disregard to the provisions of the Electoral Act on the procedure for updating voters register.
However, the appellate court, rather than setting aside the judgment of the tribunal, upheld all the submissions of the judges of the tribunal.
However, the court ruled that the issue of voter register, as raised by the petitioners, was not a pre-election matter but one that the tribunal had jurisdiction to entertain.
Therefore, the court dismissed the appeal in a unanimous judgment that lasted one and half hours.
The court held that the appellants failed to prove the allegations of substantial non compliance of the 2012 election with Electoral Act 2010 as amended beyond reasonable doubt.
Justice Daniel Kalio, who delivered judgment on the PDP’s petition, insisted that the person contesting the results of an election must show how his allegation substantially affected the conduct and the outcome of an election.
PDP’s candidate in the elections, Olusola Oke, came second with 155,961 votes against the eventual winner – Olusegun Mimiko – who polled 260,199 votes.

FUN TURN PAIN

This is simply unbelievable as it is weird – never heard of a broken p*nis before until now. According to TMZ, MMA fighter Ray Elbe – who competed on “Ultimate Fighter 9″ — had to be rushed to a hospital in Malaysia earlier this month… after he broke his man-hood during s*x; a condition that required 10 stitches to fix.
67
According to the fighter, he was having fun with his girlfriend who was “on top” … when she bounced a little too high, and crunched his erect manhood.
According to Ray, his p*nis “fractured” … and “blood was everywhere” and immediately passed out from the pain. It was at a nearby hospital that he underwent surgery to close the wound and repair a “slight tear” in his urinary tube.
Ray is expected to make  full recovery — and was ordered to take “anti-erection pills” for two weeks.

PHOTO: Women Take Off Clothes To Stage Protest In Mosque

Three feminist activists from the radical protest group Femen staged a unclad protest inside a Stockholm mosque on Saturday before they were led away by police.
femenmosque

The women burst into the mosque and tore off their black robes to bare their br**sts, which were emblazoned with slogans such as “No sharia in Egypt and the world” and “My body is mine, not somebody’s honour”.
The women shouted “Free Women”, “No Sharia” and “No Oppression”.
The mosque was largely empty at the time apart from a couple of employees and some members of the press who had been told of the planned protest in advance.
Mosque employees called police who removed the women from the scene. The women did not explain why they wanted to protest inside an empty mosque.
“They’re suspected of disorderly conduct and abuse,” police commander Jonas Svalin told reporters, saying that the mosque employees had accused the women of shoving them.
The women were reportedly from Egypt, Tunisia and Sweden, although police were not immediately able to confirm their identities or nationalities.
Founded in Ukraine in 2008, Femen is a self-declared “radical feminist” group known for its unclad protests against s*xual exploitation of women, sexism and religious institutions.

NNPC Advises Against Panic Buying, Hoarding Of Petroleum Products

Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has assured of adequate stock of petroleum products in the wake of strike by the National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG).
The assurance is contained in a statement issued in Abuja on Monday by Mrs Chinwe Agulefo, the Acting Group General Manager, Public Affairs of the NNPC.
The statement said the corporation had more than 32-day sufficiency of petroleum products.
It said the corporation was working hard with relevant stakeholders to reduce the impact of the disruption in the supply of petroleum products as result of the strike.
It noted that the relevant stakeholders were already working with the union to ensure quick resolution of issues at stake.
The statement called on members of the public to refrain from panic buying or hoarding of petroleum products.
NUPENG began a three-day warning strike on Monday to demand for better working conditions for its members.
The strike had led the emergence of long queues at filling stations in Abuja and some other parts of the country. (NAN)

NGF Crisis Won’t Affect 2015 Elections – Jang

Factional Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, Da Jonah Jang, has assured Nigerians and the international community that the crisis rocking the Forum will not have a bearing on the 2015 general elections.
Jang, who is also the Governor of Plateau State, gave the assurance in a statement on behalf of his faction of the Forum by its Director General, Mr. Osaro Onaiwu, in Abuja on Monday.
Jang said it was wrong for the First Secretary, Embassy of The Netherlands, Ms Anique Claessen, to have raised the alarm that the crisis was capable of affecting the 2015 elections.
Claessen, while speaking at a seminar to evaluate INEC’s roadmap recently, was quoted to have said, “For example, the controversy surrounding the election of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum chairman seemed to me very ironical. If a small group of 36 cannot agree on and respect the outcome of a democratic election, what are the prospects for the election involving millions?”
The NGF has been split into two factions following the outcome of its May 24th election where Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers state got 19 votes against Jang’s 15 votes with both contestants laying claim to the chairmanship position of the Forum.
But Jang, in the statement, said that there was no way the governors could isolate themselves from happenings in the country and assured the people that they were capable of resolving their own problems.
The statement read, “We read with dismay the recent comments of the First Secretary, Embassy of the Netherlands, Ms Anique Claessen, which were widely circulated in the media, supposing that the recent internal family communication challenge of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum will affect the process and outcome of the 2015 elections.”
Jang, however, said, “From the above submission, it is very clear that the Dutch envoy has a limited understanding of the contending issues of the polity, the politics and the people.
“For it is hard to conceive how a matter that is not a constitutional issue would affect 2015 elections. INEC, the body charged with conducting elections in Nigeria, has not alluded in the remotest term to such a threat as Ms Claessen’s.”
Consequently, he appealed to diplomatic missions to apply moderation in their comments and avoid skewed postulations or prophecies about Nigeria’s national institutions, adding that they should realize that their words carried the weight of their offices.

Budget Impasse: By October We May Not Be Able To Pay Salaries, Says Okonjo-Iweala

If the National Assembly fails to amend the contents of the 2013 Appropriation Act, the Federal Government may not be able to pay workers’ salary by October, the Finance Minister and coordinating minister of the economy, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala has said.
Mrs. Okonjo-Iweala stated this yesterday while peaking in a radio programme tagged “Political Platform” on Ray Power FM.
She said, “We have been able to implement the budget to a state that we now discovered that there has to be some amendment; so Mr President sent the amendments to the National Assembly. I think we can continue for a little while longer; we need the amendment to pass because come September or October we may not be able to pay salaries.”
Explaining further on steps taken to solve the budget impasse, the Minister said, “We have been talking with various committees and the leadership in a collegial way trying to see how we can fix this problem. But one specific example that is critical is the salary and between now and October, we will need about N36 billion”.
According to her, the bone of contention is the differential in funds used for some sundry other items aside from those spelt out in the Act which will have to be covered. “That means that in those categories that they were removed, we may not be able to achieve such goals.

“One important part of the amendment is the salary that was moved out of that category to other subheads, which has to be restored: we need to restore N36bn for salary that was carried out so that the country will not shut down,” she said
On state of the Nigerian economy, the finance minister was quick to dispel the notion that the country is broke stressing that what is currently being experienced is cash flow hiccups.
“We have been very open about it. I always believe in telling Nigerians about what the situation is all about with regards to the budget, with regards to the economy. Nigerian economy is fundamentally strong but within a strong economy, you can experience a cash flow problem. Outside agents regard us as fundamentally strong. Now the issue is we are experiencing short term problem,” she said.
